Why are many international flags boring an uncreative?

I have to agree on Indonesia. Some people sat around a table brainstorming and they came up with TWO COLORED RECTANGLES ???

At least Italy, German, etc have THREE, lol

Then you have Liberia..... look familiar? They just stole from the US.

Always kinda liked the Chinese flag, Also Puerto Rico and Switzerland.
