Nfl Dallas
This may seem like a stupid question, but in the NFL, WHY are the Dallas Cowboys in the EASTERN Conference?
That has been bugging me for the longest time, and I kept forgetting to ask.
Seriously, though, I look at the other teams, and there are some that are further EAST than Dallas is, and yet THEY (like St. Louis) are part of the Western division.
I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation.
The Rams were located in Los Angeles for most of their history, as such they built considerable rivalries with the other division teams, therefore, changing their division would be a horrible move.
The Cowboys have always been in the NFC East, I guess the NFL didn't know where else to put them when they were founded in 1960. Seeing the historic rivalries of that division however, it would be blasphemy to put them anywhere else.
