How do you get into your room if you lose the door keys?
What is this idea to use a playing card?
Nobody can answer your question accurately since you gave no details such as what type of lock.
There are surface locks and mortise locks.
.Mortise locks have 2 bolts, a deadbolt and a nightlatch which is angled so it slides back into the receiver as you are closing the door and then extend into the slot in the jam AFTER the door is closed.
If you had to use a key top lock the door when you left you need a locksmith to open it now.
Using a playing/credit card only works of night latches, not deadbolts (on a mortise lock)or deadfall locks (on a surface lock)
