My dog hit his head on the wooden part of my couch while playing with his toy.?
My dog hit the top part of his head and snout on the wooden part of my couch while playing with his stuffed animal. He was shaking it back and forth and I guess didn't realize how close he was to the couch. Anyway, he backed up, dropped the toy, and began to snort kind of like he was catching his breath and his eyes were really big and he whined a bit. I thought he might cry and was really scared for him. He recovered within a few seconds and has pooed and peed and eaten fine. This happened a couple of days ago, but when he first gets up from a nap he does that snort gargle catching breath thing like when he hit his head and then is fine. Should I be worried if everything else seems fine, especially his disposition? Although, he won't touch that particular toy anymore.
My mom is a dog trainer, and has a lot of experience with dog-related illnesses. My dogs do that weird snort thing sometimes too, and my mom excuses it. I'm sure he's fine. It may be because his nose is a bit sore and he's trying to fix it. If it continues, call a vet to get a certified opinion.
